Dental Implants
Dr. Guarino is knowledgeable in all areas and phases of implantology and enjoys a success rate better than 90%. He routinely treats patients with deficient bone, replacing these regions with ontogenous bone, to allow for placement of implants requiring larger diameters or longer depth.
Dr. Guarino routinely practices implant dentistry, bone grafting, and tissue engineering in his West Roxbury office. A graduate of Tufts School of Dental Medicine, Dr. Guarino completed his Post Graduate certificate program in Prosthodontics. He was acknowledged for his outstanding achievement by the International College of Dentists.
Dr. Guarino is a lifelong member of the American Dental Association, the Mass Dental Society, the Parkway and Norfolk Dental Association and is a fellow of the International College of Oral Implantology.
Dr. Guarino pursued the accredited and intense, 20-month hands-on training course, a surgical and prosthodontic program at the (Dr. Carl) Misch International Implant Institute, the Maxi Course in Oral Implantology with Dr. Norm Cranin, under the auspices of the University of Medicine and Dentistry School of New Jersey, and the highly specialized Universite de Lille course in Lille, France with Dr Manuel Chanavaz.
Dr. Guarino also studied at the Implant Seminars at Harvard University and worked under the personal mentoring of Drs. Craig Misch and Dr. Wayne Jarvis.
Dr. Guarino has studied advanced bone grafting in courses 1 and 2 in 2009 with Dr. Michael Pikos and advanced tissue grafting programs. Dr. Guarino attended courses and symposia in tissue engineering in 2011-2012.
Treatment of complications can occur and Dr. Guarino sees many patients referred by other specialists. Some come with treatment complications and Dr. Guarino offers innovative treatment modes to achieve better outcomes. He also sees patients for second opinions and performs extractions and grafting procedures in preparation for implants.
